We’ve all had our fair share of toxic friendships.

My worst friendships were from high school (don’t worry we’re not going in that direction).

I’m not going to tell you some sob story about all of my failed friendships. And this isn’t an opportunity for me to tell you fuck all of those bad friends.

As I grow older, I realize that those bad friends I had were some of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life. Like beyond P.H.D. level.

Here’s why your bad friends are the best teachers you could possibly have.

1. They’re on YOUR level

I’m pretty sure the main reason why you make a friend in the first place is because you like them.

Why?

Most of the time it’s because you relate to each other. You have enough commonalities to bond over and you enjoy each other’s company.

You can tell that friend anything and they’d always have your back (ideally).

Usually your friends are in your same age group and they’re in the same social spaces as you.

You don’t have to be “professional” or “formal” when you’re in a friendship. That’s why they’re better than…
