It’s not just a hobby or even a passion.

I don’t take writing seriously.

In fact, I don’t even know if I take writing titles seriously.

I’m a big procrastinator so any type of writing might take a while. But out of all the failures I’ve had, writing was always something I finished.

I never finished cleaning, eating, or even something as simple as throwing my trash out.

There would always be some gap in between anything I did. My tasks were never complete.

That’s how my life felt for a very long time ever since elementary school — incomplete.

The first time I ever wrote something — 5th Grade

Okay I’m lying here a little bit.

I obviously don’t remember the first time I ever wrote something. I don’t think anyone does since writing is something you learn very early on.

However, the first long form essay I could possibly remember writing was in 5th grade. I forget the topic, but it was for a history class so maybe about the constitution or presidents.

It was a timed write. She gave us the whole class period (45 minutes) to see what we could write on the topic.
