Why I’m So Damn Tired of Writing About Writing
“For writing to be enjoyable, it has to help the author too.” — Tom Kuegler
Mark Manson released a blockbuster article proclaiming that he’s quitting self-help.
We all know he made tidal waves after he released his groundbreaking book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k. He turned the self-help genre on its head. It sold millions of copies — and he’s choosing to leave the genre that made him a household name.
To sum up the article, Mark is leaving self-help because he’s already helped himself. His self-improvement journey is over. He’s not in a f**ked up place in his life anymore.
That’s why I’m coming to you now to say that I won’t write any articles about writing for a while.
I’m Disgusted With Myself
My most popular article to this day was one about how I wrote and published on this platform every single day for a year and got huge results.
I still get comments upon comments from that article of different writers telling me how I’ve inspired them to be more consistent. It means the world to me. I never thought little ol’ me who was a failed writer twice in a row would inspire a rock, let alone a whole battalion of writers.
