Ever since I went to college, it’s like a a bubble just popped. After my bubble was popped, It opened my eyes to a whole new world of probability.
I started to encounter people of very distinct backgrounds and ways of life. In my high school days, you wouldn’t see a person of color for miles away.
Ever since I was very young I always had a strong interest in learning different languages. I was tired of living in a colorless bubble and I wanted to branch out and experience different cultures.
Since I knew I couldn’t just book a plane ticket to France or Japan, the best way for me to encounter new cultures as a student was to enroll in a language class and see what happens.
Long story short, I enrolled in a French class in High School and took it for four years. I became more than proficient in that language when I started taking it in college. Now I am branching out of my comfort zone and trying out a Japanese class and let me tell you, it’s not a walk in the park.
So why am I putting myself through these hard classes with daily homework and picky pronunciation rules?
