Why it’s important to create something only YOU can create.

You know what I like about all of the recent Disney remakes that are coming out?

Nostalgia

That’s it.

If these remakes came out and had absolutely no affiliation with the original movie, they would be horrible to watch, at least for me.

Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book. May I go on?

The only remake I remotely liked out of all of them is Lion King so I won’t be too hard on Disney, but let’s be honest, these remakes are getting pretty boring.

It seems as though Disney is either out of original ideas or stuck on a nostalgia trip for cash grabs. Disney’s not the only company that does this. I only use them because of their name. Either way I know I’m not the only one that notices this rampant era of remakes everywhere.

Even some of the music we here today isn’t original. Take this from a 19 year old.

We’ve traded originality for nostalgia.

That’s why I’m here to talk about the beauty of originality.

Why do we love nostalgia so much?
