I’m sure everyone knows this whole COVID-19 situation is massively effecting people’s lives in horrible ways.
The last thing the middle to lower class need are rich celebrities telling us to “donate to a better cause”. In fact, what does that even mean? We are the better cause!
I find it interesting how they have the audacity to ask people who are at the bottom of the totem pole for money when they have millions of dollars.
Another thing that frustrates me from this situation is how everyone (mainly rich people again) are co-opting the language of “we’re in this together” as if everyone is in the same situation.
As people on social media say “Once the bills come in, we aren’t in this together”.
I don’t need anyone to keep telling me that shit just because they want me to feel like I have someone else to relate to.
That whole phrase is just used a scam to make people feel like they are okay — when we clearly know things aren’t.
No one cares if you are rich and you can’t find things to do in your multi-million dollar mansion. Don’t tell me what I need to do for COVID-19 relief when most of these celebrities haven’t donated…
