We’re exhausted.

I wasn’t going to write anything about this. The depression I’ve been feeling in the last couple of weeks has been unbearable. But if I don’t write about this, I’ll always hold it in, and that’s not good for anyone.

I’ve made efforts to avoid any discussions on social media or watch clips on the news because it makes everything worse.

But a few days ago, my grandmother watched the news in the dining room and the murder of George Floyd came up. A video circulated on social media of his death in front of our very eyes.

“Turn it up! Turn it up I can’t hear it!”

My grandma yelled as she wanted to hear the latest coverage (because she always watches the news).

I hollered “No!”

I didn’t want to hear him screaming in agony as he died. It was too much for me to handle. After that horrendous clip, our whole week changed.

What’s the death toll so far?

Armaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, not to mention the countless other deaths at the hands of police brutality.

To all of the victims, bless your hearts and rest in peace.

We won’t explain anymore.
