All I needed to see was one dollar, just one, to keep going.

If I can make one dollar, just one, that’s all I need to keep going. I just need to see something. Anything. I just need a sign to keep going.

About a year ago, I jumped on the one woman money making machine wave. I saw the success others were having with this idea of entrepreneurship and I decided to give it a try. Little did I know that I would have to surf the wave on my own without guidance.

Punch Yourself and Repeat.

I mustered up my conscience and gave the freelance writing idea a jab. I put so much sweat and hustle into that boxing match. I trained frequently each day by doing my cold calling jabs and my pitching kicks. I even sparred with my own blog in which I would publish a review everyday.

I’d try and pitch to at least 10–15 publications a day to try and get some type of response. I had a few maybes, but they ended up being dead ends. After months of training and training, I caught a colossal T.K.O. to the face. In total, I ended up making zero dollars.

My spirit was thronged into the dark depths of my negative thoughts. A few months later, I would collect the courage to try something new and see if I could really…
