Does your life come down to one picture?
I always hated taking pictures.
My face looks weird and my voice sounds absolutely horrible in a recording. I never put myself on camera because of this.
Every time someone recorded me, I’d feel super uncomfortable and incredibly shy. So instead of documenting my memories with a camera like everyone else, I decided to put down my phone and write out my thoughts in a journal.
Why?
I stopped documenting with my phone because journaling my experiences has something that a picture or video could never get right.
You remember things better when you process them.
Writing has always been a way for me to process my thoughts. It’s like therapy.
I’m an introverted person and a horrible public speaker. But one thing I’ve always noticed with writing is that it requires you to think.
You have to think before you write.
Whereas taking a picture is something you can do in the moment. You don’t have to think twice about a picture unless it looks “ugly” and you want to retake it.
But it’s a lot easier to to put a filter on a picture as opposed to writing out a paragraph…
