A lesson from Yugi-oh: How to Overcome Being The Jack of All Trades, But a Master of Nothing.
How to beat the jack of all trades syndrome.
So I failed a class twice in high school.
Why did I take the class? To be honest I don’t even know myself.
Everyone told me to get out of it but I stayed and tried to push myself to the limit when in reality, I was wasting my time.
Maybe it’s because I kept applying the bullshit mentality of “work hard”, but I didn’t know working hard was something you have to be selective with.
I had the “jack of all trades”/be the best at everything syndrome in high school.
Here’s how I overcame it.
I joined a boatload of Advanced Placement classes in High School.
Advanced Placement classes (or A.P. classes for short) were special classes my school offered that gave you a chance to receive college credit when you graduate. They also gave your high school G.P.A. a nice little boost.
These are the classes that all of the “smart kids” took. I was one of those nerds in school that wanted to take these classes, not because all of the “smart kids” were in them, it was to tell everyone that I’m in all A.P. classes.
